The Diving

Our speed and our sixty mile licence allow us to visit sites from the Sound of Jura to the Sound of Mull and also west to the Torrans and Dubh Artach.

Due to our range of dive sites and the sheltered tidal waters around the Forth of Lorne we can offer good diving for all levels of experience in all both summer and winter.

All Weather Diving (almost!).

Because our pontoon is located in a sheltered sound with access to sea lochs, we can find calm dive sites in most weather conditions. Access to more tidal areas in the open Atlantic are only a few minutes away.

The Garvellachs and the Slate Isles

These islands create an area of outstanding beauty above and below the surface, with exceptional water clarity. Complex tides are a feature of this area: our local knowledge will put you on the right part of the site at the right state of the tide.

During your surface interval you might see dolphins, porpoise, otters, sea and golden eagles and much more!

Offshore sites exposed to the Atlantic swell

On settled days some of our best dive sites are to be found some 30 miles west of the Garvellachs. These sites have narrow gullies and walls carpeted in Jewel Anemones, huge shoals of fish and water so clear that you can sometimes see the sun at 40m plus.

For your best chance of seeing minke whales, come on one of our five-hour whale-search trips – see sealife-adventures.com for full details.

Drifts

The channels between the archipelago of local islands provide excellent drift diving with abundant marine life.

Wrecks

We regularly visit the ‘classic’ Sound of Mull wrecks and also some less heavily dived wrecks. We are always searching for (and finding) virgin wrecks.

How to find us…

We are a scenic 30 minute drive from Oban.

Our private car park and pontoon is a 30 minute scenic drive southwest of Oban.
From the A816, turn onto the B844 (brown signs for Sealife Adventures). Follow this road onto Seil Island over the steep, humpbacked Atlantic Bridge. After the bridge, continue exactly 0.8 miles & turn left into our site, look out for yellow  “Sealife Adventures” signs.
If you are using SatNav, enter PA34 4TR.
